“What’s in a bubble?”

By Lauren: Lately, bubbles have been a favorite activity outside in the afternoon. Here are a few snippets of conversation I’ve had with children about the nature of bubbles…

How do bubbles make you feel?

Happy!
EXCITED!!
Magical!

How do bubbles move?

The wind!
Magic!

What’s inside a bubble?

Nothing!
Air!

Why are some bubbles bigger than others?

They have more nothing in them.

Do bubbles float in water?

No. They can’t float in water because there’s creatures down there. There are sharks. The sharks make them not float.

What colors do you see in bubbles?

No color…every color!
Pink!
Yellow!
Sunny colors!
Rainbow colors!

Why do bubbles have so many colors in them?

The sunshine makes them have colors.
