Last week we did a taste test of 4 different leaves from the garden: arugula, lettuce, spinach, and kale. Nine children participated and they made a vote on each leaf. After each taste they decided whether they “liked it!” or “didn’t like it yet”. Depending on what they decided, they made a check mark next to a smiley face, or an uncertain face. This week we compiled that data into a graph! For many of them, it was their first time hearing about graphs and what they are for. We practiced counting votes, writing numbers, harvesting greens for a visual on the chart, making a key, and coloring in bars. Here’s how it all came together!
